Chakka Varatti

The only thing which comes to mind when we get a Jack fruit at home is, to make Chakka Varatti.  The blended taste of jaggery and jack fruit will be awesome. And am sure it'll tempt to have more for all the sweet lovers. Specially for those who don't like this fruit can have this...

So I learned this dish from my mom. This time I assisted my mom and so its my mom's recipe on my blog... Do try and enjoy the sweet.

INGREDIENTS: 
Jack fruit flesh - 10 pieces
Jaggery - 1/2 cup ( Half the qty of the friut pieces)

PREPARATION:
  • Grind the fruit pieces into a fine pulp.
  • Heat a wok and add the jaggery. Add water such that the jaggery gets soaked. Heat this a little for the jaggery to get dissolved so as to remove the dust and impurities which will settle at the bottom.
  • Now make the jaggery syrup by heating the cleaned jaggery water.
  • Once the syrup starts to thicken a little, add the ground fruit pulp and mix well. When it becomes non-sticky with the wok, off the stove and remove to serve. 

So Yummy and Sweet like Halwa...
