Greenish Upma Kozhakattai

IMAGERY:


INGREDIENTS:
Rice Kurunai - 2 Cups
Coriander leaves - 1 fist full
Thoor dal - 2 fist ful
Green Chili- 3
Pepper cons - 1/2Tbsp
Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
Mustard seeds
Urad Dal
Curry Leaves
Coconut oil

Salt 
water

PREPARATION:

  • Soak the thoor dal, Coriander leaves, 2 green chilies and pepper cons in water for few minutes.

 
  • Then drain the water, add coconut and grind it into fine paste .
 
  • Heat the wok and add coconut oil.  
  • Add mustard seeds followed by Urad dal and Curry leaves. 
  •  After frying add 4 cups of water. Let the water boil a little.Then add the paste and leave it to boil a little: add the required salt.

  • Once it starts to boil, add the rice kurunai little by little, such that no lumps are formed.Add little coconut oil such that it doesn't stick to the wok.
  • When this is done, make kozhakattais and steam cook them.
