Nelli Rasam

INGREDIENTS:

Chopped Nellikkai -1
Cooked Toor Dal - 1/2 cup
Green Chilli -1
Curry Leaves
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp
Cumin Powder - 1/2 tbsp
Pepper Powder - 1/2 tbsp
Salt - As required
Coriander leaves
Asafoetida
Mustard Seeds
Oil


PREPARATION
  • Heat little oil in a wok and add mustard seeds. Let it pop.
  • Add Curry leaves, green chilli and the chopped Nellikkai.
  • Now add the cooked toor dal and add little water.
  • Allow to get the first boil. Then add turmeric powder, Cumin Powder Pepper Powder, salt and asafoetida.
  • Once it boils, turn off the heat add the coriander leaves for garnish. 
Nelli Rasam Ready

Note: You can also grind the goose berry and extract its juice if you don't wish to have it in pieces..
